We are able to place mixed products in the room together when ripening and found that all products ripen faster and more evenly, this also extends the shelf life on all products increasing profitability for ourselves and retailers with faster turn around time for ripening and no waster.
During this period the system has virtually been trouble free.
During this period we have compared our degreening results and schedules with many other orchards and on average we are degreening in 50% of the time taken by the older methods used by many growers. We have done most of our degreening at 2 ppm, except lemons in the early season were we used 4ppm. Our fruit comes out of the degreeners with a fresher look than fruit that has taken twice as long to degreen.
